From its humble beginnings to becoming one of the most anticipated events on the Gold Coast calendar, the festival continues to grow and evolve while staying true to its core values of inclusion, visibility and community connection.
Our History
Gold Coast Pride Festival was born out of a desire to create a visible, celebratory space for the Gold Coast's LGBTQIA+ community. For years, our community had been active and thriving but there was no single event that brought everyone together in celebration of who we are.
The first Gold Coast Pride Festival took place in 2021 and it was an instant success. It proved that the Gold Coast was ready for a celebration that honoured its diverse LGBTQIA+ community. Since then, the festival has grown year on year, attracting thousands of attendees from across Australia and beyond.
Each year brings new events, new faces and new moments of connection and joy. What started as a vision has become a beloved tradition that means so much to so many people.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple. We want to create a festival that celebrates every part of our community, that brings people together and that reminds everyone that they are valued and loved.
We believe in creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone can be their authentic selves. Whether you are a long time member of the community or you are just beginning to explore your identity, you are welcome at Gold Coast Pride Festival.
We also believe in the power of visibility. When we show up and celebrate together, we send a powerful message to the world that our community is strong, proud and here to stay.
What to Expect
Opening Night
Thought provoking forums, intimate discussions and performances from local LGBTQIA+ artists. A chance to connect, reflect and get ready for the weekend ahead.
Fair Day
Market stalls, food trucks, entertainment and community connection. The heart of the festival where everyone comes together to celebrate.
Beach and Street Parade
A sea of colour, glitter and pure joy as the community walks together along Narrow Neck. The highlight of the festival.
After Party
The biggest party of the year. Dance under the stars with the ocean breeze and a crowd of beautiful people celebrating love in all its forms.
