Gold Coast Rainbow Pride becomes a three-day Festival
~including all-inclusive, all-ages, safe, free-entry Fair Day~
An ever-growing LGBTIQA+ community on the Gold Coast and increased calls for connection, education and advocacy, has led to volunteer-led Gold Coast Rainbow Communities expanding their 2024 Pride celebrations to become a three-day festival extravaganza for the first time.
The Gold Coast Pride Festival will take place from Friday 31 May through to Sunday 2 June 2024 with a program of events as bold, colourful, fun and inclusive as the Gold Coast queer community itself.

Danni Zuvela, Co-Director of Gold Coast Pride Festival said: “We are expanding our presence on the Gold Coast to meet the needs of our ever-growing LGBTIQA+ rainbow community here and across Queensland.
“The 2024 Pride Festival 2024 is going to be our biggest and brightest so far and we have carefully curated the program to ensure it is diverse and has broad appeal - there’s truly something for everyone! Come for the fabulous live entertainment and to see the most glamorous battle of the year with the return of the Gold Coast Drag Pageant - and stay for our amazing program of workshops and creative arts activities, sample some delicious treats from our food trucks and enjoy exploring over 50 fantastic market stalls.
“2023 was a huge festival with at least 4,000 people checking out the Gold Coast Pride Fair and this year we are expecting more than 5,000 people from the Gold Coast, surrounding QLD areas and interstate visitors to join in the free fun,” Danni said.
Vince Siciliani, Co-Director of Gold Coast Pride Festival said: “Our Gold Coast Rainbow Communities’ website receives so many hits from new visitors every day. It’s our portal to our LGBTIQA+ queer community on the Gold Coast.
“New contacts are made, often multiple times a day, with enquiries from queer people, parents, carers and family members asking about activities and events and support services for a community that is still recovering from the negative impacts on mental health, of prolonged isolation and social disconnection during the global pandemic and now, the cost of living crisis which is also hurting our community disproportionately.
“It’s clear that there is a huge need for more LGBTIQA+ community activities, events and connections on the Gold Coast and that is what the 2024 Gold Coast Pride Festival is here to provide,” he said.
“This year, we are thrilled to share our biggest and brightest festival yet! We have changed up our previous ‘formula’ so that our pre-festival fundraising event is now in May. That’s a rave called Q-Topia at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse in Burleigh, and will help us raise much-needed funds to keep the Pride Festival free entry.”
“We’ve moved our famous White Party - where everyone sparkles in their most angelic white outfits - to the Sunday after Fair Day making it our first ever recovery party, on a yacht in the beautiful Broadwater.”
“There’s lots, lots more - we recommend folks stay tuned for more news about the fourth annual Gold Coast Pride Festival by signing up for our newsletter and checking our social media for details,” Vince said.
