MOVIE WORLD PRIDE EXCURSION
A day of thrills, friends and pride
As part of the inaugural Gold Coast Pride Festival, Gold Coast Rainbow Communities organised a special LGBTIQA+ community excursion to Warner Bros. Movie World. It was a day filled with fun, friendship and the magic of movies.
The Movie World excursion was one of many events during Pride Week that brought the community together in celebration of diversity and inclusion. It was a chance for LGBTIQA+ people and allies to connect and enjoy one of the Gold Coast's most iconic attractions.

About Movie World
Warner Bros. Movie World is one of the Gold Coast's premier theme parks, located in Oxenford. It is a film studio-based theme park that brings the magic and excitement of movies to life with a range of world-class rides, shows and attractions. [citation:9]
The park opened on 3 June 1991 and is the oldest film-related theme park in Australia. Visitors can enjoy various film-themed attractions, from motion simulators to roller coasters, and meet characters from famous Warner Bros. films. [citation:9]
For the Pride excursion, members of the LGBTIQA+ community had the opportunity to explore the park together, enjoy the rides and create lasting memories in a safe and welcoming environment.
Part of Pride Week 2021
The Movie World excursion was one of many community events that made up the inaugural Gold Coast Pride Festival in 2021. The festival ran from 23 to 30 May and included a range of activities for people of all ages. [citation:1]
Other events during the week included a Genderfluid Picnic, a White Party on a yacht, a Pride Walk on the beach and the first ever Miss Gold Coast Drag Queen Pageant. The festival was organised by Gold Coast Rainbow Communities, a not-for-profit group formed in 2020. [citation:2]
The Movie World excursion was a highlight for many attendees, offering a fun and relaxed way to connect with the community and celebrate diversity.
